The Ride
My name is Andhika my journey began in 2008 not in a studio or workshop, but on a skateboard. The streets became my classroom, teaching me balance, resilience, and the courage to fall and rise again. Skateboarding was never just a hobby, it shaped the way I see the world. It taught me that progress is built through persistence, and that every setback is part of the process.
Over the years, I started noticing something that stayed with me. At streets and within the community, broken decks were constantly being discarded. Layers of maple wood once ridden, scratched, and filled with stories were thrown away as waste

Research
In 2015, that question turned into research. I began studying the structure of skateboard deck the layered maple, the strength of the ply construction, and the potential hidden within what was considered unusable. I experimented relentlessly, dismantling broken boards, reshaping them, and exploring new forms. The process was far from easy. Many attempts failed. But like skateboarding itself, every failure carried a lesson, pushing me forward.
By 2016, after countless trials and refinements, I took the step to release my first pieces. Loosewood was born not merely as a product, but as a continuation of my skateboarding journey. It was built on sustainability, creativity, and respect for material.
New Phase
Loosewood exists to give broken decks a second life. Every scratch, crack, and exposed layer tells a story. What others see as waste, I see as character. By reclaiming discarded skateboard wood, I aim to transform something forgotten into something meaningful.
This is not just about creating objects. It is about redefining value. It is about honoring the spirit of skateboarding freedom, progression, and the relentless drive to keep pushing forward in every piece that we craft.
Loosewood is an ongoing journey. From discarded decks to purposeful design, each creation carries both history and a new beginning.
